- Q: How to remove and install the Cooling Fan Assembly on 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300TD?A: Disconnect the battery negative cable and remove the radiator. Take out the fan retaining bolts from the hub's back side. If only the fan is being removed, the pulley and drive belts can stay. Use a ground-down box wrench for clearance. Reinstall in reverse order.
