How to remove and refit the intake manifold on 1991 Mercedes-Benz 190E?

In order to eliminate the inlet manifold in diesel engines, one has to disconnect the negative lead of the battery and to remove the air cleaner. In normally-aspirated engines, remove hoses and loosen clamping bolts. In the case of turbo-diesel, unplug wiring and disconnect ducting. Lift and recover the gasket and re-fit the process by reversing the process.
