For pre-January 1985 models, begin by disconnecting the battery negative terminal, then remove the wiper arm. Next, prise off the closing cover on the top of the wiper arm spindle and push out the two clips securing the air inlet cover over the plenum chamber. Lift up the rubber seal to release the front part of the air inlet cover, followed by lifting the rear rubber seal on both sides and undoing the two screws that secure the air inlet cover to the bulkhead. Withdraw the air inlet cover from the plenum chamber, then undo the three rear bolts and one front bolt that secure the motor and linkage assembly to the bulkhead. Remove the cover over the central electrics unit, undo the two retaining nuts and two screws, lift the unit up and forward, and disconnect the wiper motor wiring multi-plug from the unit base. Finally, manipulate the motor and linkage assembly out of its location. For models from January 1985 onwards, start by removing the panoramic wiper arm, then undo the two screws and clips securing the air inlet cover over the plenum chamber. Lift up the rubber seal to release the front part of the air inlet cover, then lift the rear rubber seal on both sides and undo the two screws securing the air inlet cover to the bulkhead. Withdraw the air inlet cover from the plenum chamber, undo the bolt, and pull the front support bracket off the linkage stud. Next, undo the bolts securing the linkage to the bulkhead and withdraw it forward into the plenum chamber. Disconnect the motor wiring multi-plug and remove the assembly from the car. Refitting for both models follows the reverse sequence of removal.
