Mercedes-Benz C230 Cabin Air Filter

The Mercedes-Benz C230 Cabin Air Filter helps to keep passengers safe by filtering dust particles, pollen, and exhaust gases before air passes through the HVAC vents. The element is located in the outside air intake of the passenger compartment, and it functions similarly to the filter of a home furnace where roadway debris is trapped and stale or musty air does not accumulate in the cabin of the Mercedes-Benz. Airflow is reduced, smells increase, and the climate system works harder, so the Cabin Air Filter should be changed when it becomes clogged according to the intervals in the manual or earlier when the owners drive on dusty or leaf-covered roads. Mercedes-Benz applied two broad shapes, an initial rectangular panel and a subsequent vehicle-specific cartridge, stamped to the tight contours of the dash, but both are based on dense pleats to achieve as much surface area as possible and to entrap contaminants. The importance of regular inspection is that a blocked filter not only deteriorates the quality of air but also overloads the blower, which will either perform below its requirements or fail. The authentic Mercedes-Benz parts would also guarantee proper fit and complete filtration capacity, unlike low-grade products which might not have an approved rating. Timely replacement maintains comfort, the health of the HVAC, and the clean air feel that the Cabin Air Filter was created to provide in every Mercedes-Benz driving experience, including the sporty C230 version.

Mercedes-Benz C230 Cabin Air Filter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and install the cabin air filter and charcoal filter on Mercedes-Benz C230?
    A:
The interior ventilation filter is placed within a panel located in the engine compartment on the right (or passenger) side. To depivot it you need to loosen the clips used to secure the cover, the cover itself, then remove a ventilation filter element. To install, do the Removal process in the opposite way. Other models have charcoal air filtering elements installed in the air conditioning, which are built in a housing under the right side of the instrument panel. Removal of lower dash trim under glove compartment will give access to these filters. After that, slide the filter door on the bottom of the heater box towards the seat and take out both charcoal filters. The opposite of the removal is how it is installed.
