Begin by having the air conditioning system refrigerant discharged and recycled by a technician. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the drivebelt and the air cleaner intake tube mounted above the compressor. Disconnect the compressor clutch wiring harness, along with the refrigerant lines from the compressor, ensuring to plug the open fittings to prevent dirt and moisture entry. Unbolt the compressor from the mounting bracket and remove it from the vehicle. The clutch may need to be transferred from the old compressor to the new unit.
