How to remove and install the retaining strap from the door check on Mercedes-Benz 300TD?

Remove the door trim panel and peel the plastic sheet from the area adjacent to the retaining strap. Extract the clip and carefully drive out the pin securing the retaining strap to the pillar. Remove the outer bolts and the inner nut, then withdraw the retaining strap from the door. Installation is a reversal of removal, after lubricating all contact surfaces with white lithium base grease.
