How is the alternator removed and refitted in the engine compartment on 1993 Mercedes-Benz 190E?

The alternator is attached on the right side of the engine block and connected by the auxiliary drivebelt. It can be peeled off of the top, although there are models that have to be accessed at the bottom. The battery should be disconnected and the drivebelt loosened and the bolts unscrewed to remove the alternator and the reverse should happen during installation.
