If the balljoints are worn or damaged, the center link assembly must be renewed; if only the gaiter is damaged, renew it and pack the balljoint with fresh grease. Ensure that the balljoint shanks are clean and dry before refitting the center link. Fit the new retaining nuts and tighten them to the specified torque. Reconnect the steering damper to the center link, insert the retaining bolt, fit a new nut to the bolt, and tighten it to the specified torque setting before lowering the vehicle to the ground.
