To remove the door inner trim panel, lower the window until the nut securing the regulator arm to the window regulator channel is accessible through the small aperture at the front of the door, then undo the regulator arm-to-regulator channel nut. Support the window using a wooden wedge or masking tape over the top of the door frame, and with the window supported, undo the regulator arm to channel retaining nut. For cars with electric windows, disconnect the wiring at the cable connector terminals. Next, undo the two nuts securing the guide rail to the door panel and release the rail from the panel. On cars with manual windows, undo four bolts securing the regulator assembly to the door, or three bolts for electric windows. Temporarily refit the regulator handle on manual windows and turn it to lower the window until the two detents are swivelled out of their location, then remove the regulator handle. Disengage the regulator rear arm from the regulator channel and withdraw the regulator assembly through the door lower aperture. For refitting, follow the reverse sequence of removal, initially tightening the regulator arm-to-regulator channel nut and the two guide rail nuts finger-tight, then adjust the window operation. Wind the window down to the fully-open position, push the window down and forwards into the front guide channel, and rearwards at the top into the rear guide channel. With the window held in position, tighten the regulator arm to regulator channel retaining nut, then push the guide rail rear nut downwards and tighten, followed by tightening the guide rail front nut. Finally, check the window operation and refit the trim panel.
