To remove a headlamp or foglamp bulb on UK models, open the hood and unclip the rear cover of the headlamp unit. Disconnect the wiring from the bulb, then either release the spring clips or turn the bulb holder to extract the bulb, taking care not to touch the bulb glass with fingers to avoid premature burnout; if touched, clean it with rubbing alcohol. To remove the headlamp unit, first take out the direction indicator lamp, then remove the side mounting screws, followed by the inner mounting screws to withdraw the headlamp unit from the car. Dismantling the headlamp involves prying off the clips and removing the glass, followed by taking off the headlamp assembly trim panel. Release the clips and vacuum adjustment unit to remove the reflectors. Installation is the reverse of removal. For US models, which have sealed beam unit headlamps and foglamps, begin by unscrewing the knurled knobs from inside the engine compartment. Remove the inner mounting screws and pull the unit to the side to disconnect the wiring plugs, then unbolt the parking light/direction indicator unit from the headlamp unit. Installation is again the reverse of removal.
