Start with removing the cover in the center of the wheel to access the hub bolt and loosen the axle shaft bolt using socket and breaker bar in order to remove the front axle shaft on AWD models. When the socket is already too thick, loosen the bolt after removing the wheel. To prevent the turning of the hub, pop a large punch into the brake disc vanes. Relax the bolts of the wheel, position the vehicle above the jackstands and loosen the wheel and axle shaft bolt. Detach your tie-rod end and steering knuckle, and take the balljoint bolt and nut out and pry the lower control arm down. Move the knuckle/hub assembly until the axle shaft clears; when the splines won't part, knock on the axle shaft end with a plastic hammer. On the left-side axle, you have to tap off the inner end off halfway along the intermediate shaft, on the right-side axle you are going to have to pry it off using a screwdriver or a prybar. Prop up the CV joints and eliminate the axle shaft. In case of installation please remove the old spring clip and install the new one, oil the differential splash and swing the axle shaft up. You must then fit the splined end into the shaft of the differential or intermediate, and the spring strip must fit into position. Draw back on the inner CV joint case in order to secure seating, lubricate the extraneous CV joint splines, and set the stub axle into the axle. Reconnect the ball joint to the control arm located low and tighten up the nuts using the torque spec on the exact nut. Install the axle shaft bolt and screw it in place, but not to the final torque, until the vehicle is lowered. Fit the wheel and install the bolts, get the wheel down, and tighten the wheel bolts and the hub bolt to the recommended maximum torque. Top up differential lubricant, as required. In the intermediate shaft, loosen the axle shaft, to the left front, by taking away the snap-ring, and next slide the shaft out of the oil pan, together with the support bearing, where required. Installation is the opposite of removal and the snap-rings must be in good condition. In the case of the rear axle shaft, undo the wheel cover, loosen the axle shaft nut, and place the vehicle on jackstands. Take away the wheel, brake disc, and wheel speed sensor and loosen many of the connectors on the rear knuckle. Very carefully work back the knuckle and remove the axle shaft, making sure not to fault the inner rear knuckle seal. Pry the inner end off the differential and hold the CV joints up when dismantling. To install the product, substitute the spring clip, lubricate the differential seal and thrust the axle shaft to place. With a splined end attached at the opposite end, insert the spring clip until it clips into the differential and establish firm seating. Put grease on the outside CV proper splines, screw the stub axle to the hub, reconnect the control arms and screw the axle shaft/hub nut clamped to the vehicle without approaching the final torque till the vehicle is dropped. Fit the wheel and bolts, fit the vehicle, fix all the components to the desired torque and inspect the amount of differential lubricant at this point.
