In models 2001 to 2005 V6, the MAP Sensor is mounted in a bracket mounted at the front of the engine on the upper right corner of the timing chain cover. The first thing to do is to remove the front engine cover and disassemble the electrical connector of the MAP Sensor by pressing on the release tab and unscrewing the retaining bolt. Disconnection Disconnect the vacuum hose and sensor, and yank-off the MAP Sensor off its mounting bracket. Installation is also in reverse order. With 2006 and later V6 model engines the MAP Sensor is placed in the front of the engine, on the right front side of the left valve cover. Begin by unscrewing the front engine cover then unscrewing the electrical connector on the MAP Sensor. Separate the retaining tangs to release the sensor out of its bracket, unplug the vacuum hose on the pipe on the bottom of the sensor, and remove the sensor. Installation is once again the opposite of removal. The left rear corner of the
Intake Manifold is where the MAP Sensor is located in the four-cylinder models. Disassemble the electrical connector, loosen the mounting bolts, and pull out the MAP Sensor, and the process of installation is the opposite of the dismantling process.
