How to replace front and rear Wheel Seals on Mercedes-Benz C230?

This is done to both the front and rear wheel seals. Any replacement of the front left-side wheel seal involves opening the differential housing and removing the entire diff assembly to access the side seal, which is regarded to be outside the normal provisions. Start with lifting the car and placing it on jackstands. Ranging on the sides of the differential onto which driveaxles are connected are the wheel seals. Where there is doubt about leakage at the seal, examine the sides of the differential. Take off the driveaxle(s). Carefully pull out the wheel seal with a screwdriver or prybar from the differential bore. Unless the wheel seal can be removed using these tools, a special wheel seal removal tool that is available in auto parts stores will be required. Allow the new seal to be like the old seal and compare the new and the old. Install the new wheel seal by using a seal installer, or a large deep socket, which is used as a drift to install the seal squarely into the bore and fully seated. Before connecting to the driveaxle, lubricate the lip of the new seal with multi-purpose grease to ensure that the lip of the new seal is not damaged. Lastly, test the level of the differential lubricant and add up to the right level.
