Refitting will require new
Shock Absorber upper mounting nuts. You can start by chocking the back wheels, setting the parking brake, and elevating the front of the car on axle sites whilst holding it on axle stands prior to removing the right roadwheel in place of that on the left hand side. Install the spring compressor and squeeze the coil spring until every spring seat has had all the tension removed. Place block of wood at the base of the arm and proceed to lift it until held in place with a jack. relax and loosen the upper mounting nuts of the shock absorber, take due care to remove the coil spring and upper spring seat, taking them out simultaneously with the spring compressors. Check coil spring wear or damage and replace accordingly and replace spring seat in the upper position when it appears to be in poor condition. Clean up lower arm spring seat, then work the upper spring seat up onto the coil spring and position it. Clamp the lower end of the spring against the stop on the lower arm seat, position the upper spring seat on the body mounting, take great care on lifting the lower arm with the shock absorber upper mounting with the body. Confirm that the spring is properly fitted and ensure that the new nuts are fitted to the shock absorber upper mounting and tightened to the required rate. Take the jack out under the lower arm and re-insert the spring compressor, being careful to place both ends in the right place. Install the roadwheel again, bring the vehicle to the ground and give the wheel bolts the required tightening.
