The oil cooler is placed at the back of the front left hand wing panel. The first thing to do is to use the parking brake, lift the front of the car, and place it on axle stands. Where necessary, take off engine undershield. Then unscrew the attaching screws and nuts to remove the wheelarch liners in the left-hand wheelarch. Prepare for the spillage of oil by positioning a suitable container at the position under the wheel arch, and reaching behind the front wing panel to disescrew pipe unions containing the oil at the top of the oil cooler. Loosen the two bolts and two nuts through which the frame of oil cooler support is firmly attached to the vehicle body, and remove the support frame and the oil cooler themselves under the wheelarch. Take out the support frame and the oil cooler and release the securing clips. Cleaning of the oil cooler fins by compressive air or soft brush is recommended before refitting. Refitting is the reverse of the removal so that when everything is put back, the lugs at the top of the oil cooler fit between the mounting rubbers on the body.
