First empty the cooling system before removing the radiator. The second step is to loosen the clips and to disconnect the top, bottom and overflow radiator hoses. Cautiously peel out the retaining springs clips holding the top of the fan shroud to the radiator, and then carefully remove the shroud and place it over the fan blades. In the case of cars not equipped with air conditioning, the expander screws that hold the side panels to the radiator are unscrewed and the expander body is removed. On automatic transmitters, attach the transmission fluid cooler tubes and unscrew the hose unions out of the radiator then gently pull out and cover the tubes. Then unscrew the retaining spring clips that hold the top of the radiator to the body panel and carefully lift the radiator upwards to unscrew the bottom mounting lugs and remove the radiator out of the car. To check, inspect the radiator, look at it, due to leakage, corrosion, or damage; clear the core of debris. Inspect the state of all the hoses, clips, and mountings, and replace them accordingly. To refit, reverse the steps of removal, and make sure the lower mounting lugs fit into the rubber grommets, and empty the cooling system, and check the level of transmission fluid on the automatic models.
