Remove the driveshaft and mark the relationships of the front and rear sections with paint before disassembling the bearing mount. With the sleeve nut already loosened, withdraw the front section and pull the rubber sleeve from the splines. Extract the circlip using circlip pliers, then remove the cover plate by sliding the snap-ring off the driveshaft with snap-ring pliers. Using a suitable puller, pull the rubber mounting along with the bearing from the universal joint yoke and remove the inner cover plate. Support the rubber mounting inner bore and, using a suitable diameter metal tube, drive out the bearing. Clear the rubber mounting inner bore, support it on a block of wood, and drive in the new bearing using a metal tube on the outer track only, ensuring it is driven in slowly up to the shoulder. Install the inner cover plate, mount the universal joint in a soft-jawed vice, and locate the bearing and rubber mounting on it with the inner V-fold of the mounting towards the joint. Using a metal tube on the inner track, drive the bearing fully onto the shaft, then install the cover plate and retain it with the circlip, ensuring the inner crown is against the plate. Push the rubber sleeve over the splines, apply a little grease to the splines, and connect the front section of the drive shaft, making sure that the previously made marks are correctly aligned before installing the driveshaft.
