Mercedes-Benz Fuel Tank

The fuel system has important parts such as the pump, filter, tank, and injectors, each of which is crucial to the car's performance. Thus, the Mercedes-Benz fuel tank is a good name for it. When you go to the filling station and put gas into your car, gasoline passes through the filler tube and goes straight into the tank. A sending unit within a gas tank informs you how much gasoline is in it and thus transmits this information to the gauge panel inside your vehicle. Technological advancements have, over time, made Mercedes-Benz fuel tanks more sophisticated. Today, they are mostly constructed with fuel pumps and other emission control devices that prevent vapor from escaping into the atmosphere. This part may not show an exact amount or send true data about gasoline quantity at times. Moreover, a leak can cause the loss of gasoline in a Mercedes-Benz fuel tank, while driving low on these levels can also destroy an engine. To ensure optimal efficiency and avoid unnecessary accidents, remember to check your entire fuel system, including tanks, regularly.

Why go for OEM Mercedes-Benz Fuel Tanks? Because they are the optimal solutions, fit your vehicle perfectly, and are easy to install. Therefore, these factors help maintain the dependability and performance of your vehicle. At MBPartsGiant.com, you may find all the required genuine parts for your Mercedes-Benz. They are delivered from authorized Mercedes-Benz dealers directly via an uncomplicated online catalog. We guarantee promptness, reliability, and cheap sales on the Mercedes-Benz Fuel Tank, and we always provide you with the right part at any time. Depend on our genuine Mercedes-Benz Fuel Tanks to keep your vehicle running smoothly.

Mercedes-Benz Fuel Tank Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and refit the fuel tank on Mercedes-Benz 190E?
    A:
To remove the fuel tank, always, first empty the tank by draining the remains through the filler neck using a siphon or hand pump upon normal use. Always park on a flat level area, chock the front wheels and hold the rear raised up on axle stands. Unscrew the battery negative terminal and leave it off the terminal. Removing all the hoses disconnect the fuel supply and return and vent hose and keep all the hoses labeled to be refitted later and plug in the open ends to stop leakage and dirt infiltration. The large rubber closing grommet attached to the ports of the fuel tank in the luggage compartment should be removed, the retaining clips, the carpet, and the fuel tank cover panel then released. Disconnect the wiring of the fuel gauge sender unit and loosen it out of the clips. Unscrew the fuel tank fixing nuts and access the drain hose by lifting the tank slightly and pulling out the drain hose taking note of how it is run, then unscrew the filler neck of the bodywork and retrieve sealing ring(s) and sleeves. Lift the tank to the clear, drag it back and take it out of the luggage space re-gathering any loose pieces of padding. Take out the fuel strainer in the tank unscrewing the O-ring seal of the tank and wipe out the sediment in the tank with clean fuel and again screw the fuel strainer with another O-ring seal. In case the tank has been contaminated, take out the gauge sender unit, swill it with clean fuel and in case it is very corroded or leaking repair it or replace it. Reverse the removal procedure in order to attach it again, so that all fixings are tightened to the necessary torque, padding strips are correctly laid in place, the drain hose is laid correctly and the wiring plug of the sender unit is firmly reconnected. Lastly, take the vehicle on the road and investigate fuel leakage concerning all the components that were disturbed.
  • Q: How to remove and install the fuel tank on Mercedes-Benz C230?
    A:
Relieve the fuel system pressure, then disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the rear seat cushion and the access panels for the fuel level sensor and fuel pump/fuel level sensor module, followed by the removal of the retaining rings for both modules. Working through the access hole for the fuel level sensor, disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor assembly. Lift up the fuel level sensor from the left side of the fuel tank and siphon out as much fuel as possible, then do the same for the fuel pump/fuel level sensor from the right side. Loosen the rear wheel bolts, raise the vehicle securely on jackstands, and remove the rear wheels. Detach the two under covers by removing the nuts from the front and rear, then pull the cover straight down. Remove the entire rear exhaust system from the flange in front of the pre-muffler to the muffler/tailpipe, then remove the retaining nuts that secure the exhaust pipe heat shields and take off the heat shields. Detach the driveshaft from the rear differential flange, then remove the parking brake cable cover and disconnect the parking brake cables from the equalizer, pulling the cables out of the cable bracket. If equipped, disconnect the rear brake pad wear sensors from the calipers, trace the sensor leads, and disengage them from any clips on the rear suspension assembly before unbolting and removing the rear brake calipers, supporting them with lengths of wire. Remove the rear stabilizer bar and locate the electrical terminal for the rear wheel speed sensor leads in the underside of the vehicle body, disconnecting the two wheel speed sensor leads from the terminal. Remove the coil springs and support the rear suspension assembly with an adjustable-head transmission jack, ensuring the crossmember is securely supported on each side. Remove the four large bolts that attach the rear suspension crossmembers and carefully lower the rear suspension assembly. Remove the splash shield from the right rear wheel well, then loosen the hose clamps for the fuel filler neck hose, fuel overflow shutoff hose, and fuel tank vent hoses, disconnecting all three. Support the fuel tank, remove the fuel tank strap nuts, and detach the fuel tank straps. Lower the tank slightly and disconnect any remaining electrical harnesses and EVAP hoses before lowering and removing the fuel tank. For installation, reverse the removal process, ensuring to transfer all components from the old fuel tank to the new one if replacing it, tighten the fuel tank strap nuts securely, and adjust the parking brake cables when finished.
