In order to disassemble the part, release the locking stud on the front panel adjacent to the support strut and remove the cover underneath the lock. The next step is to un-hook the hood release cable at the support bracket and lock lever. Interior Take out the cover of the facia on the left-hand side and screw, and release handle undone and cable disconnected. Pull the rubber grommet at the cable exit point on the bulkhead, and then tie a string to the hood release cable such that it will drag the string through as one draws it out. Draw the cable forward and see the drawstring and when it comes in sight undo it and pull the cable out of the car. When refitting, take the opposite steps of the removal one, and use the string to help the new cable through the bulkhead into the car.

Remove the old grommet from the cable hole in the firewall, ensuring the new cable has a grommet, then detach the old cable from the wire and attach the new one. From the engine compartment side, pull the wire through the cable hole, and during installation, push the grommet into place from the passenger compartment, ensuring it is fully seated in the firewall hole.
