To replace wiper blades for models up to January 1985, lift the wiper blade and arm from the windscreen, depress the catch on the blade, and withdraw it from the end of the arm. If an auxiliary blade is present at the base of the arm, extract the retaining clip and washer to remove it. For refitting, follow the reverse order of removal. For models from January 1985 onwards, lift the wiper blade and arm, depress the plastic clip, and lift the blade from the hooked part of the arm. Insert the new blade and move the clip up to lock it in place, then lower the blade onto the screen by prising the spring catch on the underside of the arm. To remove the wiper arm for models up to January 1985, raise the bonnet by depressing the catch on the left-hand hinge and releasing the spring clip on the support strut, hinge back the plastic cover, unscrew the nut securing the arm to the spindle, remove the washer, and pull off the arm. For refitting, ensure the blade rests on the windscreen in the parked position before pushing the arm onto the spindle. For models from January 1985 onwards, release the wiper arm cover with a thin screwdriver, undo the wiper arm retaining bolt, and withdraw the arm from the drive mechanism. Refit the arm onto the drive mechanism, ensuring the arm bolt hole aligns with the machined slot in the pumping shaft, then refit the retaining bolt and close the cover.
