Hydraulic fluid presents a danger that must not be disregarded before beginning work, so do asbestos dust. Refitting will need new caliper mounting bolts. The first step is to block the front wheel, raising the back of the car, and resting it on axle stands then removing the corresponding rear wheel. Reduce loss of fluid by dry cleaning the master cylinder reservoir cap and capping it with polythene or pinching open the flexible hose that ends at the caliper with a brake hose clamp. Wipe the surrounding area of the union and unscrew the brake pads by loosening the brake hose union nut. Unscrew the caliper out of flexible hose, slacken and slip out the caliper mounting bolts and dispose of the mounting bolts. It is not advisable to relax the bolts binding the two halves of the caliper together to result in the formation of leaks. Clean the caliper in a bench and make identification marks at the end of each piston and the bore in order not to reassemble them with another piston. Take out the partially ejected pistons and take out the dust seals, and then carefully remove the piston hydraulic seal. Wash all parts with suitable cleaning solvents, exclude solvents of mineral type and dry. Check for wear or damage of all components, replacing any that are not capable of further use, and get the relevant repair kit. When reassembling make sure everything is clean and dry and that all pistons get back into their original bores. Wet the first piston in clean hydraulic fluid and the new piston seal also, and then only fingers are needed to install the new seal. Install the new dust seal and snap the piston into the bore with the raised portion always placed on the top. Do same to other pistons. Drain the ancient locking compound out of caliper bolt hole threads, screw the caliper onto flexible hose union with new sealing washer, and install new mounting bolts and tighten them to required torque. Connect the brake hose union nut, then locate the nut of brake hose clamp or polythene sheet, then remove the nut. Defit the brake pads, and bleed the hydraulic system again, with care to check the level of hydraulic fluid and to test the opera of the braking system before returning the vehicle to service.

Always change the calipers in pairs, never change only one of the calipers. To disassemble, unscrew wheel bolts, raise up the car and place it on jackstands and loosen the wheels. Unless the equipment is supplied otherwise, disconnect any electrical connectors, and remove wiring harnesses of the caliper-mounted brake pad wear sensors. Disattach the brake line and bracket with the brake hose, and cap or plug the ends of the brake line and brake hose to avoid leakage of fluid and inclusion of contaminants in the brake system. Loosen the caliper brake hose fitting with flare-nut wrench. When only maintenance is required, do not disconnect the hose with the brake line, or disconnect the hose fitting in the caliper. Then loosen the caliper mounting bolts, then loosen the caliper out of the bracket or steering knuckle. When the caliper is being disassembled to access it and still has the hose to it, hold it with a piece of wire. To install, undo all steps taken during the removal process, reconnecting the caliper mounting bolts, brake hose connection, and brake line-to-brake hose connection in that order to the correct torque values. Tighten screw connector(s) in the brake pad wear sensor. In the case of disconnection of a hose, bleed the brake system. And lastly, fit the wheels and bolts, lowered the vehicle, tightened the bolts to the required torque.

Always change the calipers in pairs, never change only one of the calipers. To disassemble, unscrew wheel bolts, raise up the car and place it on jackstands and loosen the wheels. Unless the equipment is supplied otherwise, disconnect any electrical connectors, and remove wiring harnesses of the caliper-mounted brake pad wear sensors. Disattach the brake line and bracket with the brake hose, and cap or plug the ends of the brake line and brake hose to avoid leakage of fluid and inclusion of contaminants in the brake system. Loosen the caliper brake hose fitting with flare-nut wrench. When only maintenance is required, do not disconnect the hose with the brake line, or disconnect the hose fitting in the caliper. Then loosen the caliper mounting bolts, then loosen the caliper out of the bracket or steering knuckle. When the caliper is being disassembled to access it and still has the hose to it, hold it with a piece of wire. To install, undo all steps taken during the removal process, reconnecting the caliper mounting bolts, brake hose connection, and brake line-to-brake hose connection in that order to the correct torque values. Tighten screw connector(s) in the brake pad wear sensor. In the case of disconnection of a hose, bleed the brake system. And lastly, fit the wheels and bolts, lowered the vehicle, tightened the bolts to the required torque.
