In cars with an integral engine cover/air filter housing (such as 2001 and later V6s) the two air filter housings are constituted as a part of the main engine cover. To disassemble this assembly, unscrew the front retaining clips and locator pin, peel off the fresh air intake ducts, and lift the cover/filter housing in one whole, and install it in the same order in reverse. On four cylinder models manufactured in 2002, two types of air filter housings can be front of engine compartment. With the original air filter housing, looseness the connection of air intake pipe, electrical connection between MAF/IAT sensor and electrical connecting tract, and air flow intake duct then carefully remove the air filter housing.
